Low Barn / Three Bay Barn
Built in 1860, this barn always had horses on the bottom and hay on the top. There is some speculation there was a stage in the upper part for barn dances but that maybe wishful thinking.
The barn also contains an elevated workshop that may have been used for primitive housing for farmhands.
Our goal is to maintain the original interior timber structure. This barn never had a hay rail installed - typically, that would cut the center beams, so the structural integrity was maintained.
